Winning the Race Every Day

February is the month of hearts and valentines and flowers and candy. And love. This season of the year, like no other time, gives us an opportunity to exhibit the love of Christ. John writes in 1 John 4:9 about God’s love for us:

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.

God loves us and became human so that we could know Him and have victory in this life. Because He first showed such great love toward us, we show His love to others. Our mission as His representatives is to show His love to the world He died for.

Choose somebody to show the love of Christ to. Maybe it will be a homeless person, maybe someone in your church who cannot find a job, maybe somebody who has physical issues right now and can’t get yard or farm work done. Look for a way to give yourself away in the name of Christ’s love.

You might think you’re just too overwhelmed with your own list of things that need to be done, but I can guarantee that if you will intentionally be a conduit of God’s love, you will be the recipient of blessing. It never fails. God works in you when you love others.

Today, ask God to show you somebody who needs to see the love of God.

Pit Stop Point to Ponder

“I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other” (John 13:34 NLT). Jesus commanded this of every one of His followers. How has He loved you? In what ways can you love others as He loves?
