IMG_0059Your Victory Weekend team had another successful time at the KOA Campground in Watkins Glen, New York. We saw a total of 1,000 visitors come to our area of the campground on the evenings of Friday, August 5 and Saturday, August 6. Steve also led a service on Sunday, August 7.

Audra McLaughlin and Jess Zimmerman belted out extraordinary songs and encouraged the attending crowd both in music and with their words. The Victory Weekend team was honored to have two race car drivers speak to the crowd: Josh Reaume on Friday night and Dale Hamilton on Saturday night.

The team also enjoyed the spirit and presence of our veterans, military personnel, and first responders, as the team honored 25 heroes. Steve shared that everyone could be a friend to a veteran by being “a hero to a hero.” Steve additionally mentioned, “We should stand with them, support them, and encourage them.”

Those honored were greatly overwhelmed by what they heard and were deeply appreciative. Steve talked for an extended amount of time with two Canadian police officers to thank them for their service across the border, along with a New York firefighter. These men expressed that this ceremony was what they desperately needed, and they appreciated how Victory Weekend has and will continue to help them.

The next Victory Weekend event will be on August 24 to 26, at the Michigan International Speedway, and more information is coming your way soon!
