All Day

Michigan International Speedway

Being a stone’s throw from Detroit helps to create a genuine gear head event…that’s exactly what happened in round 2 of the “fan’s kinda’ party” in Brooklyn Michigan. Cool nights and sun-filled 70 plus degree days at camp Juniper Hills fired up race fans along with the Victory Weekend team and made for what could be best described as a racers paradise at Michigan International Speedway.

The party started during the Friday afternoon session with Cole DeRuse and the sub sonic blast from Team Xtreme bombarding camp Juniper Hills. The generally subdued Friday night crowd surprisingly grew to better than 3,000 fans rocking the night away with classics and originals from Cross Country the Band!

More great weather on Saturday along with the Victory Weekend staff visiting and playing corn hole with the fans made for our largest party night to date. Once again Cole DeRuse, Team XTreme and Cross Country the Band laid down the groove and entertained over 8,000 fans on Saturday night.

10 P.M rolled around with Steve Wingfield along with Cross Country the Band changing gears to honor active military, civil servants and veterans for their commitment to others and our country. Some 200 servants where honored while Cross Country the Band played heartfelt patriotic songs. The Victory Weekend staff placed medals around the necks of those who serve…a very powerful moment!

Saturday night ended with Leo Johnston once again calling out to the fans to simply love one another in this broken world. At that moment Brian with Team Xtreme broke a bat over his right leg and held it in a cross pattern to the fans while Leo spoke about the unconditional love found only in Jesus Christ.

Enter Steve Wingfield with tears in his eyes to reaffirm to the fans that Jesus is real and is absolutely crazy about them and then simply asked the fans to respond to his love for each fan. Over 150 fans asked Jesus Christ into their lives and the fan’s kinda’ party switched gears towards heaven!

We closed the second 2013 Michigan outreach weekend with Fans and Friends chapel service Sunday morning. Michael Coleman reminded the fans and team to simply love God and people to end what was a wonderful weekend in Michigan. 2014, here we come!
