Acknowledge the Lord

Acknowledge the Lord in the morning, and ask for His direction throughout your day.

I know, a lot of people are not at their best in the morning. They aren’t “morning people,” and trying to have time with the Lord in the early morning isn’t even a wise plan for them. Not matter when you have your extended time with Him, I believe it’s so important to bring Him into your day at the beginning.

Start the day by directing your first thoughts in a prayer to the One who has given you life for that day:

I cry to you for help, O Lord; in the morning my prayer comes before you (Psalm 88:13).

I rise before dawn and cry for help; I have put my hope in your word (Psalm 119:147).

Maybe you do this even before you get out of bed! Acknowledge the Lord and His lordship over your life as soon as you wake up. Thank Him for the day and ask Him to direct your steps. It may only be a sentence or two: Lord, I give myself and my day to You. Please guide me in the right steps today.

God is your only strength, your help, your hope. He is the One who guides your feet and sustains you. Send your prayer up to Him in the morning, and it will change your day for the better.

Pit Stop Prayer

Lord, I give myself and my day to You. Would You guide me in the right steps today?
