Leave a Lasting Legacy

How do you leave a lasting legacy? I was reading something from Dr. D. James Kennedy, senior pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, who once talked about several massive structures like the great pyramid of Giza, the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China. Did you know that the astronauts can even see that wall from outer space?

Now, you might have recognized the names of those structures and you might even have an image of each one in your mind, but do you remember who built them? They’re impressive building projects and people still travel to see them, but do you remember why they were built? I don’t. The answers to those questions have pretty much faded away as time has gone by.

Scripture says you can leave a legacy that is not fleeting and does not pass away quickly:

Those who lead many to righteousness [shall shine] like the stars for ever and ever. (Daniel 12:3)

What a great word! You shine like a star when you show Jesus to the world and bring people to meet Him. And that is something that will not fade away. Those results will last forever and ever.

Pit Stop Prayer

Lord Jesus, take my eyes off the things that will fade away and fix my gaze on Your unseen kingdom, on the things that will last forever.
